Rebecca Guyver
Rebecca Moss Guyver RBA, is an American Suffolk-based still life painter in egg tempera. She studied Painting and Drawing at Stanford University with some of the Bay area painters; was NEAC Drawing Scholar (2018), exhibited in the RA Summer Exhibition (2023); was longlisted for the Jackson Painting Prize (2023 and 2025) and has shown at the Pastel Society, ING Discerning Eye, International Print Exhibition and SWA at the Mall Galleries.
Rebecca tells stories with objects collected from charity shops and car boot sales. Her tableau of fruit, figurines and patterns become symbols through which viewers can imagine universal places, people, things and experiences. She has a joyful approach to reflecting on life and always begins with colour. She thinks of painting as a series of corrections until harmony is achieved and likes the metaphor of tuning an instrument to describe her process.
